North Carolina Farm
“North Carolina Farm”
49" x 55" oil on canvas
This oil painting depicts a typical North Carolina scene with the rolling hills, farms, and weathered old barns. In the barns, the harvest hangs from the ceiling to dry and can not be seen. However, I grew up in Michigan where I was more familiar with bailing hay and storing it in the barn. The smell of the fresh cut hay and swinging from a rope in the hayloft are precious fond memories of my grandparent's farm. These memories explain why I am very partial to barns and the rural lifestyle. This painting is one of the largest I have done and it will need a special place to call home. Isn't it amazing the grandeur of what God has created.

Pond Of Flowers
“Pond Of Flowers”
16" x 20" oil on canvas
This impressionistic painting was a view from a plantation in South Carolina located not too far from my house. The study of impressionism has made a great impact in my painting style. I love impressionistic paintings created throughout art history and look forward to doing more of this artistic style in the future. You will be absolutely amazed at the color depth in this original oil painting when personally viewing it in the confines of your home or business.

St. Augustine Street
“St. Augustine Street”
16" x 20" oil on canvas
This painting comes from an area near my parent's home in Saint Augustine, Florida. This city is filled with great history of our United States and considered to be the oldest city in America. The Spanish explorer, Pedro Menedez de Aviles, founded St. Augustine in 1565. This painting reflects the narrow streets and trees which cascade over the road flowing of Spanish moss. This city is gracefully unique with its quaint historical homes. This picture depicts an average street for the area showing its southern charm in the pale yellow house with the wrap-around porch. Beauty abounds everywhere as God created everything.

Bridge Of Flowers
“Bridge Of Flowers”
16" x 20" oil on canvas
This painting reflects a view of a southern plantation in South Carolina. It is from the same area where the “Pond Of Flowers” oil painting was created. An impressionistic style was utilized in this gallery work. I plan to explore and expand this style further in subsequent oil paintings. I really enjoy painting the beauty of nature which God has provided through my sense of sight and touch. I believe the reflection of the bridge in the water with a backdrop of blooming flowers in this painting reflects the tranquility of this landscape setting.

Golden Path
“Golden Path”
20" x 26" oil on canvas
(SOLD)
This painting depicts a street in North Carolina that is very typical of the southern landscape. Though it seems quite open and desolate, it is not far from the city. Many streets in this state are similar to the one pictured here. When I first moved to North Carolina in 1987, no one was allowed to cut down a tree in the city limits without written permission from the local governing body. I was so excited with this fact since I was accustomed to new construction developments leveling the landscape with its trees. The beauty of the Carolinas is their tree lined streets.

Hidden Heron
“Hidden Heron”
24" x 30" oil on canvas
Florida is the place to draw and paint these incredible birds. My parents live on the inter-coastal in Jacksonville, Florida where I can go out on my Dad's boat to remote areas to draw, paint, and photograph these magnificently graceful creations. The heron has always been my family's favorite bird. When I was very young, I remember if a blue heron was spotted the entire family would rush to view this awesome bird and they still do to this day.

Egret
“Emerged Egret”
24" x 30" oil on canvas
When I was young, I always saw egrets while on vacation and wanted to take one home. After all we did have a nice clean pool for them to swim in and a fenced backyard where no one would bother them. I would carefully watch them as they watched me too. This painting captures my fond feelings towards my winged friends as this egret moves slowly behind the marsh grasses and sticks and eventually flew away. What a gorgeous bird!

Czech Street
“Czech Street”
18" x 24" oil on canvas
(SOLD)
Prague is one of the most picturesque cities in the world. Every street and corner is a painting. This exquisite view was painted in Prague, Czech, just off the Charles Bridge. Rich in mythology, one only has to stand in the middle of the Charles Bridge at the dead of night amongst the moon shadows cast by the early Gothic bridge towers and Baroque statues to appreciate something of the special atmosphere of the place. I felt that I wanted to capture the style of the living here rather than the typically painted scenes.

Birds Of A Feather II
“Birds Of A Feather II”
36" x 56" oil on canvas
One of my favorite things to do when I visit my mother in Florida is to watch the birds. They have some of the greatest birds in Florida and I have always said, "I wanted to take them home with me". The birds are not afraid of anyone and they hang around a long time. This is an important fact when you are trying to draw them or take their photograph. The egret is my favorite Florida bird.

Pond Pathway
“Pond Pathway”
18" x 24" oil on canvas
I was so excited when the leaves started changing colors this fall. I noticed the trees were brightly colored and crisp to the touch. I just had to find a place where there was no traffic and very few people so I could concentrate on the loveliness of this season. I had recently embarked on the subject of trees which I loved and admired for years. At this desolate pond behind a neighbor's house, I was able to sit and focus upon transposing this beautiful scenery onto my painter's canvas. No one really even knows about this pond and nature's wonderful landscape here. I spent many days trying to capture this natural beauty without the bright colors being distracting or unreal.

Bridge Of Lions
“Bridge Of Lions”
16" x 20" oil on canvas

$1750 Framed Oil Painting (SOLD)
This painting was taken from an area in in Saint Augustine, Florida where my parents live. One of the fun things you can do while visiting is taking a leisurely ride around the Nation's Oldest City in a horse drawn carriage. One of the main points of interest is the beautiful "Bridge of Lions" with the view of Flagler College behind it. Flagler College was formerly the Ponce de Leon Hotel built in 1888 by Henry Flagler. The building is in the National Register of Historic Places and is acclained as one of the finest examples of Spanish Renaissance architecture in America. This painting reflects the "Bridge of Lions"and captures hints of the exquisit city through historic creation.

Church Of Epiphany
“Church Of Epiphany”
16" x 20" Framed Acrylic Painting
This painting represents my first work from my trip to Germany. This scene was captured on location in Frankfurt while sitting by the Main River, a tributary of the Rhine River. The church has an exquisite neo-gothic architecture with a uniquely manicured landscape. It was a wonderful experience having school children and tourists watching me paint this church. "The Church Of Epiphany" is shown against an approaching weather-front of dark clouds. Luckily, the weather cooperated and I was able to finish this work before the rain. The trip was quite inspiring to me as an artist as I marveled at time-worn creations of God. The German people were kind, friendly, and fun to be around while I enjoyed the culture and history of this wonderful place. Everywhere I looked, I saw a painting but when I viewed this church, I knew this structure would be my first painting. I thank God for this incredible opportunity to see even more of his creations.
