Herons are wonderful birds, full of grace and poise. They are very strong and unafraid in their water environment. I have wanted to paint these birds for some time and was glad to have the opportunity. I remember years ago my older sister would tell me about the blue heron that would visit her house by the lake in Michigan. My parents lived on the Intracoastal Waterway in Florida and would see these birds quite frequently.
