Lighthouses have been beacons of civilization, architectural icons, symbols of human presence and safety, and navigational guides. They have also represented a rugged coastal lifestyle, protection, salvation, guidance, illumination, never-ceasing watchfulness, steadfast endurance, and helpfulness. When you think of it, Jesus is just that to us. He is our way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness with steadfast endurance and love!

Portland Head Light is popularly known as Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse, is an historic lighthouse in Maine that sits at the entrance of the primary shipping channel into Portland Harbor. It is the oldest lighthouse in the entire state and was completed in 1791. The light station is automated and is currently maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard.
