Sweet is the season of spring: the long and dreary winter helps us to appreciate its genial warmth, and its promise of summer enhances its present delights. After periods of depression of spirit, it is delightful to behold again the light of the Sun of Righteousness; then our slumbering graces rise from their lethargy, like the crocus and the sunflowers from their beds of earth.

My mother loves flowers of all kinds. I took her to a large sunflower field in Raleigh that was so magnificent. There were rows and rows of them, some so tall they were reaching for the heavens. The strength of the stems was amazing holding these beautiful large flowers as they swayed in the breeze. The bees were having the time of their life, enjoying the sweet nectar!!
